I haven't written in this blog for like 24 days! Uaaagh. I wrote in my personal blog yesterday but it had been a while since I had written in that one too. A lot of happened since I got my job. Personal stuff and some cosplay progress.

I think I'll stick to sharing the cosplay progress right now...

I worked on my Luxray costume and it's like..70% completed! I'm still unsure of what wig I will use. I don't want to get a new one just for it so I might borrow a friends black wig, three of my friends have them...so I'll see once I'm finished with the costume.

I also worked on Fado, but the whole costume makes me mad. I don't like dealing with it..it makes me mad, the sight of it angers me! Okay, not angers..but I get irritated. :[ In anycase, I have tons of costumes I want done and now with the job..I have no excuse! I need to work on stuff, I just get lazy and hardly feel motivated at all. .__.; I also miss someone very special and I don't know when I'll hear from them.Bleh.p00p.....

Miccostumes Costume Review

Kindly sent to me for a review by miccostumes.com! Miccostumes is a china based costume shop that also serves the English speaking community. They have a wide array of cosplay and Halloween costumes online. Before I begin, I must disclaim that I am not paid for this. I was only given the costume for review.

 

First impression of the costume was how neat the sewing looked. Well, of course that's ignoring the wrinkles n,n;;

  
I like how the bias are sewed on neatly.

There is something special about the design of the skirt, it has an elastic band at one side of it. I guess this is a feature to help the skirt fit different users as much as it can.

It's a pretty cool design if you are afraid the skirt won't fit you. Though for me, the elastic just kept slipping up, making the short skirt even scandalously shorter.

  

The material used seemed to be some sort of cotton and polyester satin. It is light and thin and I guess that fits the summer theme. Though it can feel kinda chilly sometimes.

The size sent to me was a female S. The skirt fits me perfectly but as you can tell from the picture, the top is humongous on me. I guess this is expected from Bought-Off-The-Shelves costumes. When I took part in the TGX Shana competition last year and had to wear the costume provided by them, the top was way too big for all of us too. I guess this is due to the no zip or button design.

And just to put my stand across clearly, I think Cosplay does not necessarily mean you have to make everything from scratch yourself. Personally, I think its more about having fun and paying tribute to the series you like. It’s the respect you pay towards the costume, the series and the effort you put in that counts. Of course making everything from scratch is definitely more admirable and fulfilling. But if one does not have the skill and time to make it work, getting a professional to help you with it shouldn’t be a capital crime as long as you’re honest about it.

 

Let’s bear in mind that Coplay IS A HOBBY. It’s meant to be enjoyed and not stress yourself over. At the end of the day, you answer to nobody but your own conscious =)

GT on TG

So people have been asking, "What does GT think of Tricia Gosingtian?" The answer is very simple.Tricia is the real dream girl material. What she has in her modest frame is a young lady who can do it all if she wishes to.

Right now, it seems she knows exactly what she wants to be doing, and she's exceptionally good at it. She may be really hot, but I would not be ashamed to admit I'd rather see her clothed than buck naked. She's the kind of chick you'd be willing to take with you everywhere and feel like you have the biggest dick in the world for having her.

If she was the goddess of anything, I would return to being a very faithful and religious man.

(Of course, Airi is still so much better. But she's not far behind.)

& a little lolita

A few days ago I started thinking. All I ever post here is about cosplay. To me it is not all that surprising as lolita is to me not a hobby but a style I dress in. Therefore I renamed the blog to DcastEye Cosplay, & a little lolita. That means I will still be posting about lolita, but this blog will mostly contain cosplay and sewing.

A little treat. The photo is one of those times when I first started to wear lolita. Me and my friend were doing commercial for a Japanese culture event and dressed up since we were going to be in the newspaper, me in lolita and she in my Haruhi Suzumiya-costume.

But now I have to write a paper for school so for now. Bye!
